Why EU aims to be climate-neutral by 2050

Design & Data recently worked with the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) to develop a virtual edition of the annual Customer Conference that presented the new “2030 Vision for Energy Consumers. We helped to develop the entire virtual event experience from the event graphics to post-event feedback.

The future of energy is intricately linked to the battle against the climate change. The EU aims to be climate-neutral by 2050 – an economy with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. This objective is at the heart of the European Green Deal and in line with the EU’s commitment to global climate action under the Paris Agreement. It is therefore vital that energy providers and policy makers have the climate information they need to make informed choices on the future energy mix. CEER’s Vision for Energy Consumers is to ensure no one is left behind in this energy transition.

Designing the event graphics, we strived to capture the spirit of the event as it searched for future solutions to world’s most painful problems. The lightbulb encompassing a hemisphere full of green and renewable technologies signifies the problem-solving and creative attitude we need to make a sustainable future possible.

The look of the event was fed into the GoToWebinar online meeting platform, which enables users to interact in real time.

It was important for CEER to gauge relevant insights from the participants of the conference through a post-event form as it seeks to ensure that consumer rights are promoted and protected while implementing its vision.
