Telia shares second place in the ICT industry in the World Benchmarking Alliance’s Social Benchmark

Telia received a score of 13.5 out of 20 in the World Benchmarking Alliance’s Social Benchmark of 2,000 of the most influential companies assessed globally published on July 2. Among companies assessed in the ICT industry, Telia shared second place in the ranking in terms of its commitment to respecting human rights, providing and promoting decent work and acting ethically.

In the first measurement area, which reflects the expectations on businesses to commit to internationally recognized human and labor rights, implement a human rights due diligence process and ensure access to remedies, Telia scored 8.5 out of 10. In the second measurement area, which addresses critical issues such as safe and healthy workplaces, living wages and working hours, collective bargaining, and diversity and inclusion, Telia scored 2.5 out of 6. In the third measurement area, which encompasses ethical behavior on topics such as data privacy, corporate taxation, bribery and corruption, and lobbying and political engagement, Telia scored 2.5 out of 4.

“Telia takes its commitment to respecting human rights, providing and promoting decent work and acting ethically very seriously, thereby contributing to helping to realize the UN Sustainable Development Goals,” says Anna Augustson, Head of Group Sustainability at Telia. “So, while we are proud of being ranked joint second in the ICT industry, we will work hard to improve our performance in areas in which we are perceived to have fallen short.”
