Michael Agu’s Distinguished Lecture Debuts 25th July

This year’s edition of Brigadier General Michael Agu (Rted) distinguished lecture series has been scheduled to hold 25th July 2019 at the Obasanjo Space Centre, located along the Airport Road in the federal capital city of Nigeria.

The retired General, who is also an Engineer by profession, inaugurated the Michael Agu’s Distinguished Lecture in 2018 to advance the contribution of satellite technology to National security. This year’s lecture will be hosted by the President of the Nigerian Society of Space Engineers. (NSSE).

The theme of this year’s lecture is “Remote sensing and National Security”. Distinguished participants are expected from the academia, the military, public service, students and researchers at the event.

Speakers are selected based on their outstanding research accomplishments in space science and technology as well as their abilities to engage a variety of audiences. Each Speaker presents National security -based lectures, and their talks include an introduction highlighting broader roles of space technology in addressing national security objectives and accomplishments.

Last year’s inaugural lecture witnessed awards for colleagues for their innovative research, important contributions to promoting better understanding of their space technology fields, and meritorious work and service to their country.
