Galaxy Backbone Reaffirms Commitment to Service Excellence at Customer Service Week 2026

Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving customer experience, strengthening service delivery and deepening engagement with customers and partners as it commemorated Customer Service Week 2026 with a breakfast engagement meeting themed “Going the Extra Mile.”

The event, held on Friday, October 9, 2026, provided an opportunity for the organisation to appreciate its customers for their continued trust and partnership, while creating a platform for constructive discussions on service delivery, customer expectations and opportunities to improve the quality, reliability and efficiency of its digital services.

Speaking at the engagement, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, described customers as central to the organisation’s operations and growth, noting that their expectations, feedback and trust continue to shape its commitment to service excellence.

Adeyanju emphasised that going the extra mile extends beyond providing digital infrastructure to ensuring that customers receive the necessary support, particularly when technical challenges arise. He acknowledged the dedication of GBB’s engineers, operations teams and customer-facing personnel who work beyond routine expectations to resolve technical issues, maintain service standards and address customer concerns.

He noted that the organisation had gained valuable insights from customer engagement over the past three years, with feedback helping to identify service gaps, improve operational processes and strengthen service quality. He added that public sector institutions rely on Galaxy Backbone’s critical digital infrastructure to support government services, while private sector partners continue to challenge the organisation to innovate and respond to evolving needs.

As part of efforts to strengthen service delivery and support Nigeria’s digital transformation, the Managing Director disclosed that Galaxy Backbone had recently secured a new data centre facility in Lagos. The development, he explained, would enhance the organisation’s capacity to support data sovereignty, build customer confidence, and improve the resilience and sustainability of its services.

Adeyanju urged customers and partners to sustain their engagement with the organisation, stressing that honest and constructive feedback remains essential to addressing shortcomings, driving innovation and delivering better services. He assured stakeholders that customer satisfaction would remain a priority beyond the annual celebration.

Earlier, the welcome address of the Executive Director, Customer Centricity and Marketing, Galaxy Backbone, Olusegun Olulade, was delivered on his behalf by the Group Head of Human Resources, Olugbenga Omoniyi.

Olulade described customer centricity as a core organisational value rather than merely a theme for the annual celebration. He explained that technology, infrastructure and digital solutions deliver meaningful results only when they address real challenges and create value for the people and organisations they serve.

He also highlighted platforms such as GovMail, 1Gov Cloud and the Government Service Portal (GSP) as part of the organisation’s contribution to strengthening Nigeria’s digital sovereignty, supporting the secure management of government digital assets and enhancing public service delivery.

“Ultimately, customer centricity is not just about saying that the customer is important, but most importantly, it’s about making decisions every day that demonstrate that the customers truly matter,” Olulade said.

The breakfast engagement brought customers and partners together to share experiences, provide feedback, discuss service delivery challenges and recommend practical ways to improve customer satisfaction. The interactive session underscored the importance of collaboration and open communication in building lasting relationships and delivering services that meet stakeholders’ evolving needs.
