An agreement was signed with the Office of the Treasury of the Nation for the provision of spatial information to the National State, in order to promote its use by the State Lawyers Corps and in judicial disputes.
The National Commission for Space Activities (CONAE), dependent on the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Nation, and the Procuration of the National Treasury, the highest legal advisory body of the National Executive Power, signed a cooperation agreement for the use of science and space technology in the legal services of the State for the defense of the rights of the Nation . In addition to the use of satellite information, the agreement includes training actions and technical and legal assistance, as well as joint research activities.
The agreement was signed by the Executive and Technical Director of CONAE, Raúl Kulichevsky, and the National Treasury Attorney, Carlos Alberto Zannini . Participating in the meeting were the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Nation, Roberto Salvarezza ; the Secretary of Planning and Policies in Science, Technology and Innovation, Diego Hurtado ; Carolina Catani of Legal Affairs of CONAE, the Deputy Attorney for the Treasury, Horacio Diez , and the Director of the School of the Body of Lawyers, Guido Leonardo Croxatto .
“ This framework agreement opens up endless possibilities in terms of training and assistance that CONAE can provide related to data, to understand the satellite world and the opportunities that are opened thanks to this type of information that currently has a lot of weight in all the activities of the State and that does not escape the legal framework ”, affirmed Minister Salvarezza .
For his part, Kulichevsky assured that “This is another step in the democratization of access to information of satellite origin as a knowledge tool for use for the benefit of the Nation “, and added: “With this initiative we seek to further strengthen the relationship that have been maintained for many years by the Argentine space agency and a fundamental institution such as the Treasury Attorney, promoting the use of satellite information by lawyers who defend the interests of our country ”.
“We believe that one of the main tasks that the Treasury Office must carry out, in addition to training and accompanying legal services, has to do with providing them with the best tools and resources available to the State in order to enhance the work that they carry out, ”said Attorney General Carlos Zannini . “This is why we consider this strategic partnership with CONAE to be essential, since it will allow the entire Body of Lawyers to access vital information for the defense of the interests of the State and advice on the daily tasks that the public administration performs ”, he added.

The objective of this initiative is to enhance the capacities and competencies of both institutions for the benefit of the strengthening and modernization of State management, as well as promoting science and technology as public policy .
In this sense, joint work is promoted to promote the use of technological tools -such as satellite images- by State attorneys , and also, strengthen specialized legal training in space law, international law and specialties related to sectors that They use the information generated by CONAE , such as environment, mining, security, fishing, agriculture, urban planning and infrastructure, tax planning, water and health.
These actions will be carried out through the educational institutions of both organizations, such as the School of the State Lawyers Corps (ECAE) and the Institute for Advanced Space Studies “Mario Gulich”.
