A multidisciplinary team of international students from Beihang University (China), composed of two engineers from ASAL, received the second prize of the “AoxiangCup” from the prestigious “cubesatet mission” contest (CubeSat and mission contest). Two Algerians, Mrs. Arezki Faiza and Mr. Kerrouche Kamel from the Satellite Development Center (CDS / ASAL) are part of the student team composed of different profiles (electronics, computer, automatic and astronautics).
This “AoxiangCup” competition was held in Xian-China on April 23, 2018, after which the international mixed team received the 2nd prize after defending its project successfully.
The project aimed to design a constellation of nanosatellites whose first nano satellite called EcoBeltSat-1 is being developed at Beihang University, with the mission of sustainable development in the countries of the Silk Road, including the ‘Algeria.
Indeed, its mission consists in measuring atmospheric pollution allowing a better understanding of the phenomena related to climate change, in particular in terms of global warming, and in the acquisition of relevant data and parameters for the implementation of projects. sustainable development.
For this, two payloads are provided. A spectrometer for measuring air quality and a reflectometer (GNSS-R) for measuring geophysical parameters of oceanic and terrestrial surfaces as well as wind speeds. The data thus collected will be used for the implementation of projects based on renewable energies, particularly those relating to wind and solar systems.
Finally, the award ceremony and certificates of achievement were held at Beihang University International School on April 30, 2018
