To continue to receive Meteosat 0 degree SEVIRI Level 1.5 image data, users are invited to start using our new Data Store and/or EUMETView services. You can access these services with your existing EO Portal login credentials. Note however that Low Rate SEVIRI image data are not provided through these services.
The EUMETSAT Data Store provides users with a single point of access to a growing catalogue of EUMETSAT’s meteorological, climate and ocean data. Eventually, it will offer the full data catalogue, including near-real time and historic data, in addition to climate data records. It provides access to these data via web user interface (WebUI) and application programming interfaces (APIs). Products identified in the store can be combined with the functionality provided by the Data Tailor API, allowing for product customisation, such as regional sub-setting and data format conversions.

Training material, in the form of Jupyter Notebooks, is also available to help you learn about the EUMETSAT Data Store functionality. From this service you will be able to download the near real-time High Rate SEVIRI L 1.5 image data in native format, or if you prefer, through the use of the Data Tailor customisation service, you can change the output format to be JPEG, JPEG (RGB), PNG, netCDF, and HRIT.
EUMETView is an Online Map Service (OMS) that provides data visualisation through a customisable web user interface (WebUI) and an enhanced set of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standard application programming interfaces (APIs). You can personalise data viewing, add layers by satellite/theme, and save these settings for future use. Maps can be animated and downloaded, as can the corresponding georeferenced products. Further functionality allows you to view data as point-based information, and as time series. Maps may be saved in either ‘Event mode’, tying the view to a specific point in time for later recall, or ‘Live mode’, where the latest updated version of the map will be recalled when requested. The API allows users to integrate EUMETView in to other applications and systematically download images and products without access to the web user interface.

Training material, in the form of Jupyter Notebooks, is also available to help you learn about new EUMETView functionality. EUMETView provides access to near real-time Meteosat, Metop and Sentinel-3 satellite imagery. It includes five of the Meteosat High Rate SEVIRI single channels, a selection of visualised products and a range of RGB imagery.
If you already hold a licence agreement for access to Meteosat SEVIRI data with a latency of less than three hours, you will be able to access the full range of SEVIRI data provided through the Data Store and EUMETView. If you wish to check the status of your current licence agreement, visit your EO Portal account and click on ‘My Data Licences’ for further information. If you have not visited your EO Portal account in recent months, you may be prompted to renew your licensing agreement.
