In fulfilment of its pledge to establish a world class aviation University before the end of this administration, the federal government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nile University of Nigeria for the take-off of the African Aviation and Aerospace University. (AAAU)
Signing on behalf of the Federal government, the honourable Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika said the federal government is partnering with the Nile University of Nigeria for support and take -off of the AAAU.
“ We are partnering with the Nile University of Nigeria for support and take-off of this University with the core mandate of aerospace aviation and aeronautical sciences “.
Senator Hadi Sirika explained that the MoU will enable NUN to provide academic support for the undergraduate programme for the first two years in line with the provisions and practice of the National University Commission (NUC ), adding that this will be for the mutual benefit of both institutions.
The Vice Chancellor of the Nile University of Nigeria Prof. Dili Dogo who signed on behalf of his university in his remarks earlier, expressed happiness at such opportunity describing it as a privilege.
“ To us we are privileged and indeed pleased to be part of this MoU and we look forward to actively participating in the delivery of this brand new University that is to impact positively on Nigeria and the African continent.”.
The AAAU which is expected to begin academic calendar in September will run on dual mode, that is both virtual and physical and will begin courses in Bsc Aviation Business, and Bsc Meteorology.
Upon approval from NUC, the University expects to run a Master of Science degree in Aviation Management .
